Indian Army Air Defense 

Air Defense was a part of Regiment of Artillery till 1993, then it was formed into a separate corps and named as Corps of Army Air defense (AAD). The primary function of AAD is to work with Indian air force to safeguard the Sky of nation, there task is to protect the air space from enemy infringement.

These units also work along with Mechanized unit to strengthen their position at front posts.AAD mainly use air defense guns, surface to surface missiles, radars, communication equipments and other hardware's. Their units are known as regiments and separates on the basis of the weapons they used and degree of mobility.
