SSB Interview

There are 3 SSB centers in India; Allahabad SSB center, Banglore SSB center and Bhopal SSB center. There are a total of 3-5 Boards at each center.

SSB Interview Schedule

Reception:

On the day of arrival (as marked in Call letters) candidates arrive at Movement Control Office (MCO) which is situated at the Railway station of the respective boards. At given time (1 pm to 2 pm) army buses take the candidates to selection centers. Candidates then get rooms, they take a little rest before Document check and allotment of Chest numbers.
These Chest no's works as identity card of candidates; freshers got the initial Chest no's while repeaters follows. After getting chest no's candidates got enough free time to take rest and discussions before Dinner.

Opening Address: Before Allotting Chest no's and Checking documents, An officer address candidates and inform them regarding schedule and rules of SSB interview's.
For the next 5 days, candidates pass through a series of Psychological and Physical tests to Check from various angles and hence assuring a complete assessment.

DAY1 - Screening

Intelligence Test

Picture Perception and Description Test: 

Picture is Flashed for 30 seconds and candidates are asked to write short stories including Characters information like their Sex, Mood and Age. The story Should have a Beginning and suitable ending. Candidates get 4 minutes to write down the Story.

Description of Picture: 

Now the batches of 15 students called in and as
ked to narrate their stories interdependently.Candidates then asked to discuss the story and conclude a Common one.

After Completion of these 3 steps, candidates who score maximum marks stay for other tests while others leave the test centers back to their Cities. Although there is no limit of no. of candidates pass through Screening but at an average 40% of the candidates stay while others left the centers.

DAY 2 - Psychological Test  

Psychological test is further divided into 4 parts:

Thematic Apperception Test: 

Here candidates are shown 12 pictures including a Blank one. Time for each picture is 30 seconds/picture and time to write story is 4 minutes/picture. Candidates are advised to write WHAT LEAD TO THE SITUATION
WHAT IS GOING ON
&
WHAT WILL BE THE OUTCOME
 the fourth Picture is Blank one where candidates have to imagine a picture of their Own and then write the Story.

Word Association test:

In this test, Candidates encounter a series of 60 Words. Each word last for 15 seconds on the screen and candidates are asked to write a related word  on a sheet given. Irrespective of Thematic Apperception test, candidates can leave some words if they don't know the meaning.

Situation Reaction Test: 

This test contains 60 real life situation which can be very easy or very complex. Candidates are asked to write down their reactions in each of the given situations. The time is 30 minutes and it is expected to write as many as reactions you can write.

Self Description Test: 

Now candidates are asked to write 5 paragraphs about:
What their Parents/Guardians think of them self
What their Friends thinks of them self
What their teachers/Boss think of them self
What they think of them self
Negatives and Strengths

DURING MY SSB BANGALORE TEST IN PHYSICAL FITNESS WHILE WALKING ON BEAM MY FEET SLIPPED AS MY HEAD WAS ALMOST 12" ABOVE GROUND MAJOR WHO WAS WALKING WITH ME PICKED ME BY SHOULDER AND MADE ME STAND STRAIGHT THUS SAVING ME FROM INJURY.I WAS A PART OF 20 CANDIDATES BATCH ONLY 2 WERE SELECTED.THREE CANDIDATES WHO WERE SAYING THAT THEY HAVE MADE SOME ARRANGEMENT AT HQ REJECTED.CASH TRAVELLING ALLOWANCE BOTH SIDES ABOUT RS500 AFTER EVEN NOT MAKING OUT THE TEST I REMEMBER.2 CANDIDATES SELECTED WERE FACING THE BOARD THIRD TIME.QUALITY OF FOOD I REMEMBER AFFECTION DISCIPLINE RESPECT I REMEMBER THE BUS WHICH FERRIED US TO STATION I REMEMBER TOUGH AS TANK. IN TRAIN ONCE I MET A MAJOR WHO WAS POSTED IN KASHMIR TOLD ME WITH ME PRIDE THAT AS TRADITON IN INDIAN ARMY I AM THE FIRST TO ENTER IN CARDON SRARCH OPERATION WE HAVE STRICT INSTS NOT ACCEPT ANY INTERFERENCE FROM ANY ONE WHOMEVER HE MAY BE
